For we, we are not long here
Our time is but a breath, so we better breathe it
— Brooke Fraser - C.S. Lewis Song - Albertine
Brooke Fraser - Shadowfeet (Lyrics are posted below)
Brooke Fraser is an amazingly talented Christian songwriter, musician and singer, from New Zealand. Her new album Albertine is solid from the first track to the last. Christians will immediately recognize Christ in her music, but like C.S. Lewis’ tales of Narnia, her work will impress non-Christians for its intrinsic beauty, even as the real message flies right over their heads. ” I’ve heard rumours of true reality. Whispers of a well-lit way”.
SHADOWFEET
Walking, stumbling
On these shadow feet
Toward home, a land that I’ve never seen
I am changing
Less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
And I have sensed it all along
Now fast approaching is the day
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
There’s distraction
Buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it’s easier to stay
But I’ve heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
You make all things new
When the world has fallen out from under me
I’ll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
When time and space are through
I’ll be found in you
Happy is he who has laid up in his youth, and held fast in all fortune, a genuine and passionate love of reading.

My dog Ryker is lost (or stolen). He is a pit bull and the best, sweetest dog I ever had. Since he had a collar and tag, I am assuming that whoever found him (and didn’t call us) is a bad person, and will try to make him into a bad dog. I hope not. It makes me sick.
Achievement is largely the product of steadily raising one’s levels of aspiration and expectation.
